Early Childhood Education = FCCLA

 

 

Our mission is to create productive citizens with great employability skills, who can contribute positively to society, participate in the spectrum of postsecondary education, and maintain healthy relationships both in and out of the home.

 

Our ECE pathway covers introduce to early childhood education, human growth and development, and health, saftey and nutrition.

 

Students who completes this pathway will recieve a career pathway compeletion awarded by DeKalb County Schools and can earn a CDA (Child Development Associate Degree) by the State of Georgia. 

 

Students can also become certified in First Aid CPR once enrolled in the health, saftey and nutriton class and earn college credit Nocti Exam. 

 

If students are enrolled in the Early Childhood Pathway the second semester of the academic, they will have the oppurtunity to shadow elementary teachers at Cedar Grove  Elementary for three weeks. 

 

The pictures below shows students engaging in student-teachers presenting lesson plans they have created and has been approved. Thee gallery also includes HOSA students teaching FCCLA members how to properly give CPR.
