Joy to Cedar Grove!
Being apart of an organixation that emphasis on leadership in the community, Cedar Grove High School purses the high standards of FCCLA by continuing the impact within our community.
Every year, the Cedar Grove HS chapter of FCCLA adopts a family within the Ellenwood community and provide toys and clothes as gifts for Christmas. This has been a Cedar Grove tradition for almost 7 years now.
With the help of the Cedar Grove district social worker, we make children's Christmas come true.
Christmas 2013 , FCCLA adopted the Johnson family. The family consisted of a single-parent mother, a third grade named Rashawnda and a second grade boy named Vincent. Rashawnda asked for a Hello Kitty computer game and Monster High Dolls. Vincent asked for an airplane set and football.
Like Santa's elves, our members went out of their way to give more and beyond what was asked. The two students recieved over 20 gifts from FCCLA. Rashawnda and Vincent recieved everything on their list and more! We even managed to give gifts to the mother like food, clothes and house hold assecsories.
"I brought tears to my eyes seeing young people giving back to their own community, I am so proud that I advise such an amazing group of students" -Adviser Mrs. Braxton-Harris

Cedar Grove FCCLA also engages in other community services. We volunteer as assisstants in the local special olympics and organize book drives for the Cedar Grove Elementary school children.
As active FCCLA we strive to display leadership within our school and our community for we understand that we are the future, we must set the standard.
If you are intereseted in being involved in Cedar Grove FCCLA community outreach services or in need of volunteers, please contact our adviser Mrs. Braxton-Harris.
Community Leaders at work

On April 17, 2014 FCCLA as well as other organizations at Cedar Grove teamed up with United Way in the Shoe Box Drive. The members of FCCLA collected shoe boxes from their homes and brought toiletries inlcuding hair comb and brush, tooth paste, tooth brush, lotion, soap and other items to stuff the shoe boxes with. Members wrapped the boxes with decorative wrap and stuffed the boxes with their items. Cedar Grove collected over 100 shoe boxes all filled with toiletries to give to a Women's and Children shelter on Mother's Day.
